Hi, I’m Marianne.

I’m an independent indie folk musician from the south west of England.

I write music that is a special mix of things I love the most: vivid contemporary lyricism, folk-inspired instrumentation, and soaring choruses that get stuck in your head - something akin to the singalong trad music that fills the pubs in Joyce Country.*

In 2026, I’m releasing some of these songs for the first time.

While they all trace different experiences and stories, I love writing songs that feel cathartic in some way - like you’re looking out of a plane window during takeoff, or sprinting full-pelt across open moors, or maybe having a little cry on public transport.

If you come to a gig, listen to the music, or buy some merch (more on that soon..), thank you so much.

Your support means a lot and also helps me inch closer to fulfilling my ultimate dream: to be a guest on Desert Island Discs.

So long,

Marianne

*Joyce Country is an area along the border of County Galway and County Mayo. It’s also the birthplace of my grandma, who was a great reciter of poems, a gaeilgeoir (Irish speaker), and a big fan of a cupán tae.
