Marianne Joyce is an independent indie folk musician from the edge of Dartmoor, in the West Country.

She loves writing songs that feel cathartic in some way - like you’re sprinting full-pelt across open moors, or maybe having a little cry on public transport. She also has a penchant for soaring choruses that get stuck in your head (akin to the singalong trad music that fills the pubs in Joyce Country*).

After songwriting privately for many years, she decided to begin performing live for the first time last year. In 2026, she released her debut EP Every Cloud, earned recognition from BBC Introducing as both a Featured Artist and Track of the Week, and performed to packed out crowds across the South West, including a sold-out debut headline show.

Her ultimate dream? To be a guest on Desert Island Discs.

*Joyce Country is an area along the border of County Galway and County Mayo. It’s also the birthplace of her grandma, who was a great reciter of poems, a gaeilgeoir (Irish speaker), and a big fan of a cupán tae.
